This week, GTRC successfully commissioned the second variant of the high-pressure generic RQL burner. The system is designed as a model aero combustor and will be employed in the ongoing RAPTOR project.
The Installed RQL Burner in Operation
The system was tested up to 0.5 MPa and allows for independent controls of airflow to the nozzle, primary, and quench air flows. Temperature and humidity can also be parametrically controlled. A video of the burner in operation is shown below.
